What’s Happening in Washington and What Current Federal Programs can Maine Take Advantage of?

The Maine State Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce a four-part webinar series in partnership with Mission Broadband exploring broadband expansion in Maine and how the State can strategically expand broadband and help our economy flourish.  You will not want to miss this informative session!

Your Panelists: 

Jordan Crenshaw – US Chamber of Commerce, Executive Director and oversees policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Technology Engagement Center – update from Washington, what is currently being considered.

Commissioner Heather Johnson - Department of Economic and Community Development.  The Commissioner will join us to address the role that federal funding plays in expanding broadband in Maine and it’s importance. 

Tim Brooks – Rural Development, Rural Development United States Department of Agriculture will be with us to discuss the federal programs that are available.

Sarah Davis – Senior Director of Government Affairs at Consolidated Communications. Sarah will review the FCC’s Recent Auction 904 known as the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (“RDOF”) Auction.  She will discuss the $70M RDOF awards that were made in Maine, the technology to be deployed and the timeframe for completion.  She will outline the overall impact the Auction will have on the State and when consumers can expect to see improved broadband as a result.
