Maine State Chamber of Commerce External Social Media Policy

The Maine State Chamber of Commerce’s social media pages are intended to inform, educate, and engage all who have an interest in our chamber, the services we provide, and our commitment to the state of Maine and its residents.

The Maine State Chamber of Commerce reserves the right in its sole discretion to remove any content at any time without prior notice for any reason deemed to be in the best interest of our followers, our employees, our organization, and the state.
You are encouraged to submit comments, questions, and concerns. Please keep in mind that the chamber’s social media pages are moderated. All postings are made at the discretion of the page administrators.

While we welcome comments, we will not permit postings that:
  • Break the law or encourage others to do so; this includes respecting copyright laws
  • Contain abusive or inappropriate language
  • Add photos or videos that are harassing, hurtful, threatening, unduly personal, offensive, or obscene
  • Divulge personal or confidential matters involving Maine State Chamber of Commerce’s staff
  • Identify any individual in defamatory, abusive, or generally negative terms
  • Represent repeated postings of the same comment by the same individual
  • Constitute spam, solicitations or the promotion of a product or service

The Maine State Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to block posts that violate this policy.

If you have a comment or would like to report an inappropriate comment for us to review, please email Mark Ellis at [email protected] or call (207) 623-4568 ext. 109. Many social media platforms also have links for users to report abusive or inappropriate content. For example, on Facebook, a “Report” link is available in posts that will direct users to a form to specify the type of abuse and make a detailed report. Thank you!
