Maine State Chamber welcomes new board members

On Monday, November 22, 2021, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Board Orientation and Appreciation Dinner. The Maine State Chamber welcomed four new Board members, as well as 12 directors filling an unexpired term and the reappointment of 25 directors.
The reappointed directors include David Barber of Tyson Foods / Barber Foods; John Bateman of Procter & Gamble – Tambrands; Geoffrey Baur of IDEXX Laboratories, Inc.; Erik Clapp of Sevee & Maher Engineers, Inc.; David Colter of GAC Chemical Corporation; Peter Connell of Ocean Properties; James Cote of Bernstein Shur; Jon Fitzgerald of General Dynamics Bath Iron Works Corp.; Quincy Hentzel of Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce; Eric Jermyn of Cross Insurance; Peter Kingston of McCain Foods USA, Inc.; Stephen Krolikowski of KeyBank Maine; Brian Langley of Union River Lobster Pot Restaurant; Kimberly Lindlof of Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce; Todd Mason of Maine Credit Union League; Bob Montgomery-Rice of Bangor Savings Bank; Deb Neuman of Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce; Dr. James Page; Daniel Riley of Norman, Hanson & DeTroy, LLC; Mark St.Germain of St. Germain; Al Swallow of MaineHealth; Mark Thibodeau of ReEnergy Biomass Operations LLC; Eleanor Vadenais of Wells Chamber of Commerce; Tom Violette of Northern Light Health; and, William Whitmore of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.

The replacement directors are James Barrett to fulfill the unexpired term of Chris Joyce (expires 2021), representing Texas Instruments; Peter Black to fulfill the unexpired term of Tim Corbett (expires 2023), representing Dead River; John Flynn to fulfill the unexpired term of Tim Pease (expires 2021), representing Versant Power; Robert Gould to fulfill the unexpired term of Greg Wiessner (expires 2023), representing WEX; Hugh Jones to fulfill the unexpired term of Jeff Brickman (expires 2023), representing Central Maine Healthcare; John Kayser to fulfill the unexpired term of Andrew McMullin (expires 2022), representing Burns & McDonnell; Tim McGonagle, to fulfill the unexpired term of Chris Condon (expires 2022), representing United Insurance; Michael Mohan to fulfill the unexpired term of Heather Woods (expires 2023), representing Canadian Pacific Railway Company; Joe Purington to fulfill the unexpired term of Doug Herling (expires 2023), representing Central Maine Power Company; Barry Sheff to fulfill the unexpired term of Doug McKeown (expires 2021), representing Woodard & Curran, Inc.; Umberto Speranza to fulfill the unexpired term of Laura Kilmartin (expires 2023), representing Unum; and, Gil Thibeau to fulfill the unexpired term of Mitch Sammons (expires 2022), representing Sheridan Corporation.

New directors include David Austin of Eaton Peabody; Tom Brennan of American Aquafarms; Jo-an Lantz of Geiger; and, David McPherson of MMG Insurance.

Clif Greim of Frosty Hill Consulting will continue as the organization’s board chair for the second year of his term in this role. In addition, LuAnn Ballesteros of The Jackson Laboratory serves as first vice chair, and Larry Wold of TD Bank is the board’s immediate past chair.

Board chair Clif Greim shared his reflections on the past year as well, thanking Maine State Chamber members and our valued partners for a value-filled year.

During the board dinner meeting, board members heard from Sen. Jeff Timberlake and Sen. Eloise Vitelli about the outcomes of the first session and the potential of the second session. Sen. Bill Diamond also shared his perspective as a long-time legislator who will be termed out in 2022.
