On Wednesday, July 20, the day before the Making Maine Work report was released, the Maine State Chamber held its Issues and Answers Forum. Historically, this event has coincided with the release of the report and has served as a vehicle to discuss the top issues with the candidates for Governor of Maine before election season heats up. Board members from the Maine State Chamber, Maine Development Foundation, and Educate Maine gathered at Maple Hill Farm in Hallowell for three sessions, one with each of the 2022 gubernatorial candidates. After a brief overview of the report’s priorities, attendees were joined by Governor Janet Mills for the first session. The second session hosted independent candidate Dr. Sam Hunkler. After lunch, Governor Paul LePage joined attendees.
