Be sure to watch “The Maine Take with Dana Connors” every Tuesday at noon while the Legislature is in session. Since launching Season 2 on January 4, special guests have included U.S. Senator Susan Collins, Governor Janet Mills, Maine State Senate Republican Leader Jeff Timberlake, and Maine Speaker of the House Ryan Fecteau. Topics of discussion have included the COVID-19 pandemic; the challenges, rewards, and lessons of the past year; state and federal legislative priorities for 2022; and much more.

On February 1, special guest Patrice McCarron of the Maine Lobstermen’s Association spoke in-depth about the economic impact of lobstering in Maine, and the huge challenges that are threatening Maine’s lobster industry and our state’s lobstermen.

On February 8, the Maine State Chamber’s Advocacy Team - Peter Gore, Linda Caprara, and Ben Lucas – joined for an update on the current legislative session; including upcoming public hearings of interest, where key bills stand, and what the Maine State Chamber is keeping an eye on over the next few weeks. Mainebiz Editor Peter Van Allen also joined the show to share highlights from Mainebiz’s recent 2022 outlook edition. Van Allen focused on real estate, the outlook for office space and lease rates in Maine, Maine’s cannabis market, and hospitality and tourism, including record visitation projections for Acadia National Park and that #Acadia is the country’s most “Instagrammable” national park.

The Maine Take is a streaming public affairs program hosted by Maine State Chamber President & CEO Dana Connors. Initially launched in February of 2021, the program shares information and perspectives on top issues and policies that impact Maine’s economy and business community, featuring regular updates from the Maine State Chamber’s Advocacy Team and leading news source Mainebiz, and in-depth discussions with elected officials, policy makers, Maine businesses in the news, and more.

Averaging well over 3,000 views per episode and growing, The Maine Take is an effective platform for communicating top priorities of Maine State Chamber members and Maine’s business community. Sponsored by Anthem and WIPFLI, the program streams every Tuesday at noon when the Maine State Legislature is in session, and every other Tuesday at noon when the Legislature is not in session.
