With only days left to finish business before statutory adjournment, lawmakers are meeting at the State House for the first time since March 2020. They will cast votes on nearly 1,000 bills, many of which have the potential to significantly hold back Maine’s economy. Additionally, major spending proposals are before the Legislature, including the Governor’s supplemental budget, a potential bond package, and allocations of funds coming to Maine from the latest federal COVID-19 stimulus package.
On the next two episodes of The Maine Take, host Dana Connors and the Maine State Chamber’s Advocacy Team, along with special to-be-announced guests, will share detailed updates on what is happening under the dome and the impact lawmakers’ votes will have on Maine’s business community and economy. Guest co-host John Williams of Williams Broadcasting will be back for the June 8 show, and Mainebiz will join for their regular segment sharing headline business news each week.
