Webinar: Maine’s Proposed Office of New Americans + Integrating New Americans Into Maine’s Workforce

On Monday, March 25, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Maine State Chamber of Commerce will host a webinar on the proposal before the Maine State Legislature to establish an Office of New Americans in Maine State government. Special guest Hannah Pingree, Director of the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future, will present on the ONA’s plans to streamline and coordinate efforts to integrate New Americans who are authorized to work into Maine’s economy and workforce, and how the new office aims to enhance the work many Maine employers are already doing and expand to include more employers. We’ll also be joined by a panel of Maine businesses who are leading on efforts connecting newly authorized workers with jobs. We’ll hear about their successes, challenges, and recommended best practices.
