Webinar 46 - Education Innovators Series "Educator and Student Thriving"

Education Innovators Series "Educator and Student Thriving"

Monday, May 16, 2022 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM EST

Rob Houben of the Agora School (Netherlands) will share how youth and adults find purpose, meaning, and mastery at Agora and why the model is spreading widely in the Netherlands. Agora Schools for 7th through 12th grade-age youth have no class years, no pre-set courses, and no grading. They do have accountability and success. Krystal Williams (Maine business, legal, and management consultant) will moderate a discussion on the implications of Rob's talk for Maine, featuring education leader Dr. Julie Meltzer (2019 Curriculum Leader of the Year) and entrepreneur Patrick Breeding (Marin Skincare, UMaine alum). The audience is encouraged to bring questions to this live Zoom event. Find out more about Agora HERE.

Our panelists:
Rob Houben - Manager of Agora Schools, Netherlands.
Krystal Williams - Founder Providentia, Board Chair at KinoTek.
Patrick Breeding - Co-Founder of Marin Skincare and UMaine alumni.
Julie Meltzer - Director of K-12 and Teacher Education at Institute of Humane Education in Surry, Maine.
