The Workplace and the end of the Legislative Session

After more than 6 months work, the 130th Maine Legislature has adjourned and gone home.  While Maine businesses can breathe a sigh of relief – for now – they will be back in January, and many of the more important, and troubling bills proposed this year await final action in 2022.  More importantly, there are numerous changes to laws that impact the workplace set go into effect in mid-October of this year!

Join The Maine State Chamber and Rudman and Winchell for an hour-long exploration on the new laws that passed this session, and the critical debates that are on tap for next session.  We will cover topics like unemployment insurance, FMLA leave, employment at will, “ban the box,” proposed new penalties, changes to salary thresholds, vacation polices, and more.
