OneVoice Maine Magazine Archive
In October 2020, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce launched OneVoice Maine magazine. In each edition, we recognize and honor the contributions of Maine businesses and Maine business leaders to Maine’s economy, communities, and our State. Those contributions, as well as the businesses and leaders behind them, add to the quality of life and quality of place that help make Maine a unique and vibrant place to live, learn, work, and do business.
We are honored to tell those stories in OneVoice Maine.
In our fifth edition of OneVoice Maine, released in December of 2022, we honor Dana F. Connors who retired as the Chamber's president and CEO after nearly thirty years of service. Connors has led Maine’s largest business association - overseeing a wide range of advocacy and economic development initiatives, partnerships, and efforts on behalf of Maine’s business community; and a broad variety of programs and services for the Chamber’s network of more than 5,000 members of all sizes and sectors across the state of Maine.
In our fourth edition of OneVoice Maine, released in July of 2022, we pay homage to Maine’s most valuable resource — its workforce. For employees and employers alike, the pandemic transformed workplaces of every size and shape and in every region and sector. As we continue forward, this seismic shift in the world view of how we worked “before COVID” will shift how we work to meet the challenges of an “after COVID” workforce. While it is true that Maine and other states experienced workforce problems prior to the spring of 2020, these past several years have left a lasting imprint on how, when, and where we conduct business.
In our third edition, released in October 2021, we are pleased to honor philanthropist Harold Alfond for his many contributions during his lifetime and in his legacy through the Harold Alfond Foundation. Harold Alfond’s vision, generosity, and commitment to Maine continues to have an enormous impact on our state, giving Mainers a source of hope; access to education, health care, and connections; and ultimately, great promise for better lives. Every project supported by the Alfond Foundation still values collaboration, teamwork, and community involvement.

With more than two centuries of rich history, these sectors continue to innovate and remain cornerstones of Maine’s economy and heritage. In addition, readers will enjoy stories highlighting the critical and ongoing role that innovation has played in Maine businesses in operation for more than 100 years.
