EMERGENCY ACTION ALERT ANTI-BUSINESS BILL L.D. 373 Maine State Chamber of Commerce WE NEED YOUR HELP! BUSINESSES FORCED INTO LABOR AGREEMENTS FOR CLEAN ENERGY PROJECTS CALL YOUR LEGISLATOR TODAY AND ASK THEM TO VOTE OUGHT NOT TO PASS |
LD 373 "An Act to Ensure Employer and Employee Harmony in Clean Energy Projects" This bill REQUIRES a Labor Agreement as a condition for all RFP’s and being awarded projects for Clean Energy Projects. THIS WILL REDUCE COMPETITION AND INCREASE COSTS!! Clean Energy Jobs will be awarded to OUT-OF-STATE WORKERS. Under current bill language, the harmony agreement would bind the facility owner or operator and all contractors and subcontractors to the terms of the agreement. The Maine State Chamber of Commerce is committed to Maine Jobs being done by Mainers. WHY would the Legislature pass a bill that would CATER to OUT OF STATE WORKERS and result in Clean Energy Projects being MORE EXPENSIVE???
KEEP MAINE JOBS IN MAINE!! Contact your State Senator and Representative TODAY and ask them to OPPOSE L.D. 373 Note: In our first alert on L.D. 373, we incorrectly stated that the was a floor amendment in play in the House when none exists. We apologize for the confusion. |
