On the Horizon: What to expect in the Second Session of the 130th Legislature

What to Expect in the Second Session of the 130th Legislature Thursday, January 20, 2022 | 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. EST The First Regular Session of the 130th Maine Legislature adjourned in early July, but that doesn’t mean the work is finished. Several unresolved issues are now carry-over bills to be dealt with during the Second Regular Session which convenes in January 2022. A number of these more than 300 carry-overs represent considerable challenges for Maine’s business community. Furthermore, new issues have arisen in the form of “emergency” bill proposals submitted for the Second Regular Session of the 130th Legislature; 154 new titles have been accepted by the Legislative Council for submission beginning this January, giving us a total close to 500 bills to deal with over the roughly four-month legislative session.
