We will also be joined by John G. Murphy of the US Chamber of Commerce and Alex Monié of The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) for important policy developments in trade and tax. Don’t miss this important webinar! Speaker Bios: Senator Susan Collins is the seventh-most senior member of the Senate and the most senior Republican woman. She is the first Republican woman to Chair the Appropriations Committee. As the Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Susan Collins employs her influence, seniority, and experience to benefit the people of Maine and America. The committee has jurisdiction over all discretionary spending for the federal government. Senator Collins first joined the Appropriations Committee in 2009. In the 118th Congress, she served as Vice Chair of the full Committee and Ranking Member of the Defense Appropriation Subcommittee. Alex Monié serves as Senior Director of Tax Policy at the National Association of Manufacturers, advocating for competitive tax policies that support the growth of the manufacturing industry in the U.S. Alex was previously Director of Tax and Regulatory Policy at the NAM, leading the NAM’s regulatory policy portfolio, including regulatory reform, congressional oversight, counterfeiting, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and food and beverage policy. Alex previously spent time at Akin Gump as well as the Senate Finance and House Ways and Means Committees. John G. Murphy directs the U.S. Chamber’s advocacy relating to international trade and investment policy. Since joining the Chamber in 1999, Murphy has led its successful campaigns to win congressional passage of trade agreements with a dozen nations and its advocacy to shape numerous other trade bills. He regularly represents the Chamber before Congress, the administration, foreign governments, and the World Trade Organization. More webinars here. |
