Webinar 72 - Wednesday, November 20, 2024

Wednesday, November 20, 2024, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

From Evidence to Practice: Policies and Strategies to Advance Maine’s Economy
Part 2 – Trade, Tariffs, and Carbon: An Emerging International Policy Landscape.

Trade and tariffs will be an increasingly important issue for the global economy with the pending second Trump Administration and a European Union Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism taking effect in 2026. Presenters will discuss potential economic opportunities for industry and legislative stakeholders evaluating carbon content in carbon-intensive products within the global trade network and share insights on how decision makers can mobilize technology and policy solutions to create efficient energy options for Maine.
The Maine State Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation and Science is US continue a novel collaboration to provide educational programming to thought leaders in the state with this two-part webinar focused on lessons learned from last year’s “Economics of Climate Change” series. Part one of the series took place in June.
