State of Maine joins Best Place for Working Parents network

Maine is proud to announce that it has joined the ranks of the national Best Place for Working Parents network. Best Place for Working Parents is a growing national network of business leaders proving that family friendly is business friendly, through a first of its kind, three-minute, online self-assessment highlighting only the top 10 research-backed policies that benefit working parents and businesses’ bottom line.

Through this partnership, Maine businesses of all sizes and types can access tools to evaluate their organization’s support for working parents against regional and national assessments of businesses of similar size and in similar industries.
 
Through a FREE three-minute, online, confidential assessment, businesses can determine whether their organization qualifies to earn a designation as a Best Place for Working Parents, or actions they could take to do so.
 
Best Place for Working Parents designees will be presented with a digital badge to tout their business as a Best Place for Working Parents via their website, social media, and in print.
 
Maine is the first state in New England to offer this tool for employers. Support for the Best Place for Working Parents initiative is a collaboration among the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, and the Governor’s Children’s Cabinet.
