As the 2022 hurricane season is upon us (and expected to be “above-average” in activity and intensity), the Federal Emergency Management Authority (FEMA) as asked us to share with you some information to help businesses to prepare for disasters. Let’s start with some stats:
FEMA offers several FEMA Region I – Private Sector Resources online. There is also more detailed information about the critical preparedness tools and resources that FEMA provides to the public available at www.ready.gov. It’s always smart to be proactive, especially with hurricane season growing more unpredictable each year. The stat about 40% of unprepared businesses never reopening is a serious wake-up call. Whether it’s reviewing insurance policies, creating a communication plan, or backing up essential data, small steps now can make a huge difference later.
